Kevin Potter – Head Coach

Hi I am Kevin Potter. I am super excited to be the Head Coach of the ORCAS this year! I have some big shoes to fill, but I am always up for a challenge. I am the Head Boys Swim Coach at Woodbridge High School and finishing up my 4th season there. I have taught swim lessons and coached for Novaquatics for 6 years. I bring lots of experience with coaching all ages. I enjoy teaching technique of all of the strokes and I make sure that we have fun doing it. I am a graduate from California State University of Fullerton with a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology. I swam competitively at Newport Harbor High School and Orange Coast College. This summer is going to be a SUPER FUN one! Go ORCAS!!

Ali Berrien

Hi, Ali Berrien here! This will be my first year coaching with the Orcas, and I am very excited! I have been a private swim instructor for the past seven years and coached for a summer league team in Northern California. I have experience working with swimmers at different levels from learning to put our faces in the water to teaching technique on any stroke. I am currently in my third year at Concordia University Irvine, majoring in Exercise and Sport Science. I grew up swimming on a summer league team, I swam in high school, and I continue to swim for my college team. I love swimming and I hope to bring my knowledge and passion for the sport to the Oak Creek Orcas this summer!

Tim Renden

Hello ORCAS! I am proud to be part of an excellent program in Oak Creek. I hope to provide the same knowledge and competitiveness I grew up with swimming at the age of 5 in my Lake Forest II Dolphin's community, and assistant coaching at the age of 15 within the South Coast Swim Conference. These past 7 years have provided me a plethora of private swim lessons within the Lake Forest and Irvine community. I am an SMCHS Eagle's graduate of 2005, earning Most Inspirational award three times, including varsity swim and water polo. I have coached Frosh/Soph boy's water polo team at Santa Margarita for 5 years now. Over the past three years, I have coached the Girls Frosh/Soph, turning the team into a powerhouse for years to come. My girl's have won the Trinity league championships three times in 07', 08', and 09'. This 2010 swim season, I have moved up to take the helm of Boy's Frosh/Soph who continue to surprise me each day in their excellence. I am still attending school at Irvine Valley College and Cal State Fullerton's off campus classes with a Math and Science major. Over the next year I hope to attain my C-BEST to step in to the field of teaching. During my free time, you will most likely find me at the beach. I enjoy traveling, surfing, reading, and working out. Go ORCAS! Let's have some FUN this summer!
